Over the next little while, I’m going to introduce you to some players on the In Spaces Between team – my stunning sponsors.
In keeping with the integrity of the site, I’m very particular about who I bring on board as a sponsor. It’s super important to me that the blogs and businesses hanging out in my sidebar are people that I think you’d love to get to know as well – bloggers with sites you’ll love to follow or businesses, creative or otherwise, that are in line with your interests – and like anything I recommend, there has to be a genuine love there from my perspective so the whole transaction feels authentic and effortless.
I can assure you that the two beauties below, a Melbourne-based photographer whose wedding and band images will make you swoon and a blogger/ animal lover/ TV producer who will inspire you with her words (and have you dreaming of a cuddly new pooch!), are people you’ll want in your circle too.
In their words, get to know them below… then head over and say hello, check out their stuff, hang out in their pretty spaces. Meeting new people rocks!
Introducing: Lucy Spartalis
I grew up in Adelaide, and after years of obsessively photographing my friends I decided to take a course at the Centre for Creative Photography. My love of portraiture quickly turned from a hobby into what knew I was meant to be doing, and eventually it led me to Melbourne. A few features in Frankie, Polka Dot Bride and Etsy have recently made my business explode, and I’m loving every minute of it. I photograph bands, weddings, and the occasional editorial, and I could not be more in love with my job.
In 3 words, I am… Dancing. Shooting. Dreaming.
Favourite place/s… The deck overlooking the water in front of my family’s shack on Hindmarsh Island, South Australia. It’s the most serene place in my world, and one of the biggest things I miss about back home.
Obsessed with… Soft cheese. Golden Girls re-runs. Records. Adventures. New restaurants. Shoes. Love.
Listening to… So many things, but huge favourites right now are the blissed out sounds of Beach House’s ‘Bloom’, Sharon Van Etten’s ‘SVE’, and ‘The Lion’s Roar’ by Sweden’s First Aid Kit.
Reading… Miranda July’s book of short stories, ‘No One Belongs Here More Than You’. Her imagination is unlike anyone else’s. I’ve never laughed so loud at something so strange.
Parting words of wisdom… ‘Life is what happens when you make other plans’ has never been truer for me than right now. I’ve had some major changes in my life in recent times, changes that could have really thrown me if I had let them. But it’s incredible to see how tough times can open you up to new possibilities if you don’t shut yourself off to them. Things don’t always work out they way you thought they would, and it’s easy to feel lost when they don’t… but often it’s the unexpected stuff that blows you away, that makes you stop and realise that you can’t plan everything, and that’s okay. Not knowing where life is going to take you – and being okay with that – is pretty exhilarating.

Obsessed with… Downton Abbey, Rachel Bilson and my dog, Soda.
